SEATBELT PRETENSIONERS
In the case of operating a vehice
without Front Seatbelt Pretensioners, at the time of collision, slack in the seatbelts results in the body moving
forward. In the case of operating a vehicle with Front Seatbelt Pretensioners, at the time of collision, the pretensioners
automatically tighten the seatbelts, reducing the tendency of the body to move forward.
This tightening of the seatbelts better positions the body for the collision, potentially reducing injury.
- Accent’s front seatbelt pretensioners tighten the driver and
front passenger shoulder belts during a frontal impact. This reduces the occupants’ forward movement and helps
position them for optimal effectiveness of the airbags.

STRUCTURAL INTEGRITY
- The Accent’s reinforced steel
unibody construction, steel side-impact door beams, front and rear crumple zones, hood-buckling creases and safety
stops all help lessen the effect of an impact on the cabin.
